Last week both me and Beki had a free week so we packed up the car with all our camping gear and headed down to Somerset and we had a great 5 days near Bridgwater.
The weather was actually really good for the time of year and it wasn’t too cold thankfully!! It was great to get away and we had a great few days out including visiting Cheddar Gorge, Lynton and Lynmouth, I also took Beki back to where I took most of my childhood holidays – Exmouth and we also went down to Bude too!

We had a few extra friends for the weeks – I think they were working on us being the best option for food!!
Sands Point at Weston Super Mare was absolutely gorgeous and well worth the trip. The little walk we did was fantastic too!
The caves and caverns at Cheddar Gorge were absolutely stunning and the colours were great. Beki had been last year with her folks but I’m really glad we went this time too.

The view from the top of Jacobs Ladder was absolutely stunning – so it should be after the climb!!
Unfortunately by new boots weren’t very grippy especially on the muddy bank…

As the weather was bad the next day we decided to go to the Fleet Air Arm Museum – the Aircraft hanger display is fantastic here. Really wish I could take my Grandad here as he’d love it as he served on the carriers in the War and has so many fond memories…don’t think he’d get round it any more though…
When we came out of the museum the weather really picked up so we decided to make the most of it so headed to the south coast of Devon…
We had to head back the next day but rather than just driving straight back we decided to go to Bristol Zoo!
I made a friend!!
I think someone enjoyed herself!!
It was great to get away before the season got started and we had a great break. Will definitely be back down this way nexy year!
