Saturday 11th April saw the start of my 2009 wedding season and what a stunning wedding it was!
Katie and David got married at Christ Church, Tettenhall Wood just a short walk from the Bride’s family home with the reception at The Moat House, Acton Trussell.
Although Katie’s family are based in Tettenhall, the Bride and Groom actually live up near Newcastle and it really was a proper Geordie celebration.
I had a fantastic time photographing their wedding and I am incredibly happy with the photos, of which just a few are below. I can’t wait to design the album tomorrow and get it under production in Australia!
On a technical side it was the first wedding outing for the 24-70mm f2.8 Nikon lens on the D3 and was accompanied by my trusty old 80-200mm f2.8…such a simple pairing and a joy to use. The quality of the images straight out of the camera and the control of light made easily possible by the SB900 Speedlight, my editing on the new MacPro System with Dual Monitors was a true pleasure…roll on the rest of the season!!!
Hope you both have a fantastic time on your honeymoon in Europe…see you soon!!

The church at Tettenhall Wood is absolutely lovely.

Katie looked great in her dress from Accent Original!

Someone certainly wanted to steal the limelight!

The colour of the Bridesmaids dresses was a great choice…

The 17-35 really came into play in the tight house…

The boys scrubbed up pretty well in their suits from Peter Posh.

I love how they’re all just peaking round the corner trying to catch a glimpse of David:

I think he was a happy boy!

Unfortunately the journey from the Church to the Moat House was too far for the horses so instead it was a quick photo shoot back at mom and dad’s house before climbing in to the Rolls from Finishing Touch:

The bus for the guests was an inspired choice!

I think the boys enjoyed their hats a little bit too much tbh!

Considering it was April we were very very lucky with the weather!!

What a cool cake Fairytale Cakes made for them!

As always the speeches were a particular highlight – especially when it came to the Best Man’s speech…

The room was transformed into the night as the band came on and it was time for the first dance…

Dexter were a great band for the wedding with a really cool sound!

One of my favourite shots from the wedding – I love what you can do dragging the zoom…

Thank you for helping me start my wedding season in such a fantastic way!
