We set of to Newquay on the Monday morning after Valentines and although I had booked the apartments I really was blown away when I was actually there – it was like a little slice of Cornish heaven:

Just as we were about to head out for the night the sun started to set and the sky was absolutely amazing as you can see!

I think Beki was quite happy with her home for the week.

The sky literally just carried on getting more incredible as I stood on the balcony…

I definitely wouldn’t mind owning one of these apartments:

After a great night out on our first night we headed to Lands End on Tuesday. We had previously been when we were last in Newquay in August 2007 but we just had to go again!

After enjoying walking around the point at Lands End we walked up to the farm at Greeb.

Although only a small animal farm at Lands End, Greeb was quite cute to walk around – and Beki found watching this buy scratching his behind on the large rock very amusing!!

I love playing around with new processing techniques and presets on personal shots – these two shots are totally different but both great shots!

Yep – there it is!
We headed from Land’s End to another beautiful location along the coast – Penzance. Unfortunately we were too early in the season to get the ferry over to the Mount, we’ll just have to go back in the summer now aswell! :o)

As we headed further round the coast towards Lizards Point unfortunately our luck changed and the weather turned into torrential rain and so we abandoned our journey and headed back to the apartment to chill for the rest of the afternoon and evening. When the weather did brighten up, however, the sky was stunning that night:

After a great chilled night in our apartment we decided to head north on Wednesday and headed up to somwehere I’ve driven past many times but never visited – Boscastle.
The weather was much kinder to us on Wednedsay and so after a walk up into town to grab breakfast we then headed North.

Boscastle is an absolutely stunning fishing village with such an amazing history, both of survival and strength, and steeped in ancient history. It is a beautiful place to visit and we had a great time, and managed to grab some great photos too:

Looking at the amazing rock formations at Boscastle I couldn’t help but think back to my passion for Geology and Physical Geography. If I hadn’t been a photographer I think I would definitely have gone into a career involving Geography and if not Geology it would almost certainly have been Meteorology and Oceanography…oh how different life would have now been. But I am so glad that I took the path I did as life really is fantastic – not only peronsally but professionally too; I get to pursue my biggest hobby and passion (photography) as a career, documenting peoples most important days of their lives…how much luckier can you get!

From Boscastle we drove down the coast to Port Isaac, or ‘Port Wenn’ if you’re a fan of ITV’s Doc Martin!
The village and port of Port Isaac is absolutely stunning, and full of so much character. We’d previously visited Port Isaac back in August 2007 and it was great to pop back. I had the camera taken off me for most of our time here, Beki decided she wanted to play…

The sky as we were walking out of Port Isaac back to the car looked absolutely amazing!

On the way back to the apartment we stopped off briefly at Bedruthan Steps at Trenance. Although the light was fading it was well worth stopping…

We had such a great time away and we will definitely be back down Newquay again as soon as we can get chance. The area is absolutely beautiful and we’re definitely glad that we’ve now got use of a greta caravan (thanks Mom and Dad!!) at Doniford right by the stunning St Audries Park a wedding venue I definitely want to work at in the near future!!

As a present and so everyone had got a record of the night me and Beki took the cameras along and had some great fun on the night capturing everyone, both stills and a few funny videos on the 5DmarkII too!

We’ve had a really exciting start to the year with new equipment investments, okay so I like new toys :), photographed some amazing people and received the first of our stunning new albums from VisionArt in the USA. Our other show albums should be here this week including a new album from Tony Sarlo in Italy of Gemma and Steve’s beautiful wedding from last July as the feature and a new top secret supplier – you’ll have to pop back to the blog to see as soon as it’s available!!

We are really looking forward to this year and we’re determined to keep you all up-to-date with what we’re upto through our brand new blog. There have already been updated photos on the main website – if you haven’t seen yet then please head over as soon as you get chance! – and we will have continual updates with our branding and the products we’re offering over the next few weeks ready for the exciting 2010 wedding season! Last year there was a big upheaval in the band when following a dispute with the band’s management Ali Campbell left the band that he had been in for over 20 years with his brother and friends. I actually had tickets to watch Ali in a solo show earlier this year in Birmingham but it clashed with when I was in the Brecon Beacons completing my Duke of Edinburgh Gold Expedition so unfortunately I missed the show. However, after watching UB40 last night I really can say they sound as good as ever – even without Ali!

Duncan Campbell, brother of Ali and Robin, stepped into the gap left by Ali’s departure last year and his voice truly is like Ali’s was back in the Labour of Love days – when UB40 were at their best, and I now cannot wait to see them live again in concert again next year…

Me and Beki had been wanting some portraits of us for a while and with Pete and Laura being such great friends, and totally awesome photographers, and as we were in our absolute favourite place in the world, it is no wonder that we absolutely love what they have done for us!!
