Ali and Dave booked me to photograph their wedding at Combermere Abbey back in 2007 and I couldn’t wait to conclude the great set of weddings by sharing Ali and Daves day with them.
Having known Ali and Dave for a number of years following photographing Ali’s brother’s wedding to Nic in 2004 it was great to finally share Ali and Dave’s special day with them!
A great day was had by all at the stunning Combermere Abbey Glasshouse on 10th May, and it really was a true pleasure to be part of everything with them, especially being close to so many other members of the wedding party. Having started the journey in 2004 with Nic and Phil, to then photograph Lisa and Richards wedding the following year and Faye and Ades in 2007 it was nice to be in the company of friends!
To be a guest at the wedding as well as the photographer meant a great deal, and to truly feel like a friend with everyone there made a great day even more special. Ali’s Dad set the scene when he said “you’re one of the family”…to have built such a close relationship with a group of people says a great deal for the way we are and the way we work…
Here are a few of my my favourite photographs from the wedding.

The glasshouse at Coombermere Abbey truly is a stunning setting for a civic wedding ceremony:

After grabbing a couple of setting shots it was off to the cottages to meet up with the lucky bride and the girls.

The dress from Designs on You in Streetly looked absolutely stunning:

Nic and Phil’s little one:

No prize for guess Dave’s surname is Hutt!!

And two of my previous stunning brides from 2007 and 2004, Fay and Nic:

I guess it should have come as no surprise that there were soooooo many cameras around all day long with how all the family are crazy with photos.

I was stood talking to Fay and Lisa in the next cottage when I spotted Helianthus Florist from Chase Terrace coming to deliver the gorgeous bouquets. This was the reaction between Ali and one of her closest friends – so simple but I love it!

It’s amazing the stunning lighting you can get from a mirror:

A very happy – and maybe slightly nervous – groom with his comedy duo of best men:

Kenneth Clive certainly did a great job with the suits – sure he was quite happy with there being 8 of them too!!

Ali really did look stunning in her gown from Designs on You – it could easily have been designed exclusively for her it was that perfect!!

One very, very proud dad:

And one very, very happy groom!!

What a fantastic expression! Don’t worry there are plenty more of these to come later – just check out the speeches!!

See what I meant about the expressions!

Whilst everyone had a quick comfort break before the comedy-duo had their turn at the speeches I couldnt resist getting a quick portrait of Lisa and Richard with their little one. Can’t believe it’s been 3 years since I photographed their wedding!

Fay just can NEVER be without a camera:

One of the great things about Combermere Abbey is the fact that you can already have the marquee set up ready for the evening reception so it was straight from the hilarious speeches into the first dance – I love the distinct height difference of Ali to Dave here!

The marquee looks stunning as the night set in:

Thank you so much for letting me share your day Ali and Dave. You will absolutely love your Bellissimo album – so glad you guys get to be the first one to have one from us!! It truly has been a pleasure to be part of everything with you along the way and I hope we remain friends for many years to come!!
